Associate Account Director
About Us:
SmithSolve is a growing healthcare communications agency with deep expertise in rare diseases and specialty medicine. Our integrated services include corporate communications, product and pipeline communications, patient advocacy and engagement, and digital and social strategy. Our team builds strong relationships with clients and patient communities and creates programs and content that breaks through the noise.
About You:
You are eager to make a difference in the lives of people living with rare and complex conditions while working alongside a team of professionals who are driven, passionate, skilled, and collaborative. You are an emerging leader who can manage multiple projects, client relationships, and strategic communication programs from concept through completion.
Your Day to Day:
The Associate Account Director (AAD) serves as client-facing lead and owner of smaller accounts while supporting Account Directors and Vice Presidents in leading certain aspects or workstreams of larger accounts. They take an active role in content development, overseeing the successful execution and delivery of programs and leading teams. Contributing to the development of strategic plans and account and budget management are all within the AAD day-to-day. They also support the agency in supervising the growth and development of direct report(s).
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of experience in communications and/or an agency setting; degrees in science/public health, communications, public relations, marketing or journalism preferred.
- At least 2-3 years working directly with healthcare, biotech, and/or life sciences companies.
- Rare disease therapeutic experience a plus.
- Evidence of strong writing and copy-editing skills.
- Proficiency with relevant communication platforms (media databases, social media tools, project management software, website analytics, Office 365).
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Experience managing a team or direct reports.

This position is remote. Travel required about 10% of the time.
Salary starts at $115,000.
