Account Director
About Us:
SmithSolve is a growing healthcare communications agency with deep expertise in rare diseases and specialty medicine. Our integrated services include corporate communications, product and pipeline communications, patient advocacy and engagement, and digital and social strategy. Our team builds strong relationships with clients and patient communities and creates programs and content that breaks through the noise.
About You:

You are a leader who has experience developing strategic communication plans, managing a team, and producing a wide range of high-quality communications content. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at client service and project management, handling multiple relationships and projects from concept through implementation.
Your Day to Day:
Account Directors are client account owners and leaders. They develop and execute strategic communication plans in partnership with their account teams. Daily client and patient community interaction, business development, budget management, content creation, project management, and team guidance are all part of the Account Director’s day-to-day responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of healthcare communications experience with at least 5 years agency experience.
- At least 5 years of experience working directly with life science or biotech companies.
- Experience working with patient communities or advocacy organizations a plus.
- Experience leading teams and providing strategic counsel to senior clients.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and synthesize scientific information.
- Familiarity with all phases of the drug development process.
- Proficiency with relevant communication platforms (media databases, social media tools, project management software, website analytics, Office 365)
- Evidence of strong writing, content development, and copyediting skills.
- Adept at content development, understands storytelling and how to develop effective communications across multiple channels and audiences.
- Experience with healthcare consumer communications; patient stories and videos; patient advisory boards; clinical trial communications, patient ambassador programs.
- Skilled in brand positioning and messaging, market research, campaign development, emails, website generation, social media content development, webinar execution, content creation, CRM management, etc.
- Excellent time management, budgeting, and project management skills.
- Experience managing a team of junior staff.
- The willingness and ability to handle daily administrative tasks.

This position is remote. Travel required about 10% of the time.
Salary range starts at $140,000.
